Write Right Business Writing Workshop

This ((Virtual)) Write Right workshop covers the foundations of business writing to make sure participants know what the current grammar rules are, and how to spot and correct errors. It’s a great refresher of grammar and punctuation designed to build confidence that you are sending out clear, correct documents.

Agenda:

• Construct clear, complete sentences
•  Eliminate common grammar errors
• Use punctuation marks correctly
• Capitalize correctly and consistently

Location: Given the current environment we are converting to virtual sessions. Participants will receive an email with a zoom meeting invite 2 business days before the session.

Registration: Each participant is responsible for canceling their own registration before the cancellation deadline. Failure to do so will cost you a $35 fee. This applies to both late cancellation and no show.

Microsoft PowerPoint Workshop

PowerPoint is Microsoft's industry-standard software application for designing and conducting presentations in any professional context. Skill with this powerful software application is a prerequisite for those who present in virtually any capacity. Our PowerPoint training will provide you with hands-on practice developing dynamic presentations which blend text, graphics and animation effects.

•Tips and Tricks

•Develop and format dynamic a presentation

•Add images and graphics to a presentation

•Modify objects on slides

•Add tables and charts to a presentation

•Work on basic animations and transitions

•Prepare to deliver a presentation

Microsoft Outlook Workshop

This ((Virtual)) workshop is for business users who are familiar with Microsoft Outlook. Users will learn new techniques that can assist with your day-to-day business tasks. Managing your emails and keeping track of your appointments is essential to your effectiveness in the workplace - and there is no better application than MS Outlook to help you stay organized. Outlook's integrated set of tools coordinate contacts, filter email, and schedule tasks - saving you time and effort in conducting your daily routine. In this Outlook training, we give you a host of tips and techniques so you can get the most out of this handy application.

You'll come away from the class knowing how to:

•Quickly and easily compose emails in Outlook
•Categorize and file both incoming and outgoing emails
•Create quick steps to efficiently deal with incoming and outgoing mail.
•Add different types of attachments to outgoing emails
•Set up a calendar of appointments and schedule meetings
•Assign tasks for yourself and others
•Create reminder notes for yourself

Or have you taken the beginner and/or intermediate Excel classes and ready to take your Excel skills to yet another level? This ((Virtual)) hands-on practical Excel workshop helps you uncover the myriad of tips and tricks that Excel offers leaving you inspired and equipped with what you need to be productive and make your spreadsheets compelling. You’re likely to walk away with many practical tips and tricks that you can apply right away. Please note that it is necessary that you have a working knowledge of Excel or that you have taken the Excel Beginner class before taking this class.

• Tricks to working with large spreadsheets including comparing and contrasting data

Microsoft Excel Advanced Pivot Tables Workshop

In this ((Virtual)) workshop you will learn the most powerful capabilities of Excel PivotTables and how they can be an invaluable tool in helping you analyze your data and present your findings in compelling ways. If you have been using PivotTables and wondering what more you can do with them, or maybe running into obstacles and wishing you can get around them, this workshop will help you unleash the power of PivotTables and get outstanding results.

This workshop also covers Excel Macros, providing you with an understanding of the VBA scripting language and how Macros can help you add important functionality to your workbooks.

Key topics covered:

  • Getting your data ready for PivotTable Reports and Charts including eliminating duplicates, organizing your data efficiently, and defining proper relationships between data sets.
  • Using custom functions to perform more advanced analysis and comparisons such as counts, statistical functions, % of row, % of column, and many more.
  • Filtering your report to display subsets of the data and reveal hidden insights about your customers, product lines, and other subsets of data sets.
  • Formatting reports, sorting them automatically, manually, or based on pre-determined sort orders, as well as grouping them based on user-defined groups that reflect your business environment.
  • Adding formulas to your PivotTables and Charts so they include the calculations and ratios that are specific to your needs.
  • Incorporate your PivotTables reports and Charts into Word documents and linking them so they stay up-to-date.
  • Writing Macros and accessing the properties, methods, and events of Excel Objects such as workbooks, worksheets, and ranges, in order to add more significant functionally.
  • Using Macros to respond to user events and therefore making your workbooks more user friendly and better addressing the specific needs of your users.
