Professional Staff Development (PSD) Series

A ((Virtual)) comprehensive professional development experience for non-supervisory staff that includes five interactive sessions and between-session assignments. To receive the full benefit of the program, it is required that you attend all 5 courses in the following order.

Classes include:

    Introductions – Overview of Professional Staff Development – Change and Growth – Discover Your Strengths – Visualizing the Future
  2. Applying Your Talents to Career Choices
    Career Development Competency Assessment - Career Development SMART Goals – Professional Development Conversations – UCSF Career Development Resources
  3. Working with Change
    Change and Conflict – Constructive Framing – Self Management – Conflict Styles – The Change Process
  4. Working with Others
    Diversity and Inclusion – Ladder of Inference – Implicit Bias – Perspective-Taking – Your Partnerships – Communication Styles
  5. Strength Focused Conversations with Your Manager
    Refine Your Plan - The Best of Us - The Strengths Discovery Conversation - The Career Conversation - Self-Advocacy – Series Feedback

Cost: There is no fee to attend. Each participant is responsible for cancelling their own registration in the UC Learning Center before the cancellation date reflected in the course details. Not doing so will result in a $35 fee. This applies to both late cancellations and no shows.

Location: Given the current environment we are converting to virtual sessions. Participants will receive an email with a zoom meeting invite 2 business days before the session.
